As most of you know I hardly ever drink regular or diet soft drinks anymore. As a teenager I never really drank regular soft drinks because I knew they contained a lot of sugar, but I was a big diet coke fan! I probably would of have been drinking at least 1-3 cans of diet coke or pepsi max a day.

I actually thought I was doing myself a favour because I was drinking “diet” coke rather than the sugar filled coke, until one day I decided to read the ingredients label. I didn’t know what most of the ingredients on the label were so I decided to give myself a little challenge.

On January 1st 2015 I challenged myself to not have any diet or regular soft drinks for 1 month. I’m not going to “sugar coat” ┬áit here, it was hard!! But I did it, I didn’t even have 1 sip of the fizzy stuff for the whole of January. And you know what, I decided to keep going for another month, and another month, and another month….I’m still going to this day. 2.5 years later!!! Actually I tell a little lie, at Christmas I did have some sugar free lemonade in a cocktail, but it was Christmas and we all can’t be perfect all the time.

I don’t miss soft drinks at all and I don’t ever crave them. Even my hubby joined me on the bandwagon and he hasn’t had any fizzy drinks for 2 years.
